Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) originally comes from top-class sport. It is used there as an extremely effective training stimulus. In HBOT, you breathe pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber for around 90 minutes. This results in an up to tenfold increase in the physical solution of oxygen in your blood and tissue. This additional oxygen helps to fight bacteria. It also triggers the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing.
During therapy, you can read, work on the computer, listen to music or simply relax.

More cell energy
HBOT triggers processes in the body that can lead to the isolated destruction of damaged mitochondria. This creates more space for healthy mitochondria to multiply. Such an effect can significantly increase the body’s energy production and self-healing powers as well as the performance of the organs.
Since supposedly chronic diseases are often caused by mitochondrial dysfunction, many positive effects can be observed in this context.
Faster wound healing
The tissues of your body need an adequate supply of oxygen to function. When tissue is injured, it needs even more oxygen to heal. HBOT increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. With repeated treatments, the temporary extra high oxygen level promotes normal oxygen levels in the tissues – even after the therapy has finished.
Scientific effects
Studies have confirmed that HBOT can have regenerative effects on the length of telomeres. Telomere length is considered a marker of biological age. They are effectively the hands of your biological clock.
The telomeres sit like protective caps on your DNA and enable the cells to divide without losing genetic information. Well-functioning cell division is necessary for the renewal of all cells. The shortening of telomeres, on the other hand, indicates an advanced ageing process. Without telomeres, the genetic blueprint of the cells would change: a possible cause of ageing and cancer.
Studies have confirmed that hyperbaric oxygen therapy has regenerative effects on the length of telomeres.
Slow down the aging process
Another study on hyperbaric oxygen therapy, conducted at Tel Aviv University and Shamir Medical Center, looked at whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy can affect the body’s ability to rejuvenate blood cells. The researchers were impressed by the results. Older adults who received hyperbaric oxygen therapy showed a remarkable improvement in blood cell aging.
HBOT opens up far-reaching possibilities for the prevention and treatment of age-related diseases – and it can help us to significantly extend your lifespan. And all this while you breathe in and out in a relaxed manner.
